Welcome to World-Weary

The goal of this community is to share news, ideas, and education about activism. I focus on human rights causes, environmental issues and politics because these are the subjects that have the greatest impact on us.

Sit down, have a cup of tea. Put up your feet and grab a cookie. This space is for you.

World-Weary is here for people like us; people that are aware of injustice and want to fight for a better world. If you've ever found yourself feeling like the world is a mess and you want to help it heal, then you're in good company.

Welcome home. We're all tired here.

World-Weary is a place to discuss current events, culture, society, and all of the things we would like to see change for the better. Activism begins with spreading information and awareness because you can't fix problems if you don't know what they are.

The goal of this community is to share news, ideas, and education about activism. I focus on human rights causes, environmental issues and politics because these are the subjects that have the greatest impact on us.

World-Weary is concerned with real people and the real problems that they face.

If that sounds good to you, then come on in. We're happy to have you.

What's In It for You?

By signing up to World-Weary you'll be joining the community. You'll have access to the comment sections and be able to take part in discussions with other world-weary warriors looking to fight the good fight.

So long as everyone follows the community guidelines, I hope that we can all engage with each other openly and cordially. This is not a space to fight each other, but to stand in solidarity and, in time, create a network.

If you should choose to become a paid supporter, I'd be deeply grateful. It is purely optional, and the vast majority of the content of this site remains fully open to everyone who signs in for free.

That said, paying subscribers help me keep this place open and available. Keeping the website up costs money, and it all comes directly out of my pockets.

There are a few extra perks to paid supporters of course, such as access to Unfiltered, my podcast -although it is very new, I'm still learning the ropes.

Subscribers to World-Weary, whether paid or free, help keep this community growing and thriving. I'm happy to have you here!

The World-Weary Missive

Signing up to join the community will also sign you up for the Missive, with stories and updates sent directly to your inbox. Like the rest of the site, this is entirely free.

Each month, I choose a topic to discuss in-depth. During June, the Missive and Unfiltered both focused on LGBTQ+ Pride, discussing both the history of the Gay Rights protest movement and the common issues facing LGBTQ+ people today.

In July, we discussed Disability Rights, and in August, we discussed the history of slavery and what it looks like in the modern-day.

Every month brings a new topic, with new ideas to explore.

Solidarity Wins

I sign off of damn near every article I write with two little words: Solidarity wins.

Solidarity means unity. When you stand in solidarity with somebody, it means you support one another in difficult times. It means that you have each other's backs, that you share the same desires and work to achieve mutual goals.

One man alone can't dismantle a system of injustice that strips his power away. But a unified group of motivated people can rip it apart at the seams and build something greater.

If you take anything away from World-Weary, it should be that. Solidarity is how we get things done. Solidarity is how a new, better world will be built.

Standing together, we can achieve the unimaginable. We only lose hope for a better world if we stop fighting for it.
